Melanie Taheny (Kastelein)

Melanie is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and the Owner of Vitality Health and Rehab.

 

Melanie studied a Bachelor of Exercise Science (Rehab) and later went on to complete her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2013. She has a keen interest in Women's Health, Mental Health and Oncology.  Melanie enjoys the challenge of working with individuals of a diverse medical background and applying clinically relevant treatment to develop a tailored exercise programs. 

 

"I have a passion for helping individuals achieve better health and a better life through movement and exercise. I believe that exercise shouldn't have to be difficult or strenuous, it just needs to be a part of your everyday life, and ENJOYABLE. I love to introduce people to exercise they never thought they would be able to do and seeing them achieve their goals. I believe that exercise and movement are key factors to maintaining good health in conjunction with a good diet and mental health. Healthy body = healthy mind!"

Hillary Grubb

Hillary is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist based at our Alawa and Palmerston and Darwin city locations.

 

Hillary studied a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Human Movement, followed by her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2017. She holds a strong interest in Neurological Rehabilitation, having experience working with clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and more. Hillary also has over 6 years of experience working with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities and prides herself on her ability to engage with and build rapport with individuals from all walks of life. She enjoys the challenge of tailoring exercise programs to everyone's specific needs. 

 

"I have a passion for helping people improve their quality of life through activity and exercise. I strongly believe people of all ages and ability’s should be able to lead a healthy and active life style. I enjoy collaborating with all allied health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our clients as I believe a holistic approach to health and well being is crucial!"

Anthony Galati-Rando

Anthony is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist based at our Alawa and Palmerston locations.

 

Anthony studied a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and minor in Sports Psychology graduating in 2017. Anthony holds a strong interest in mental health, strength and conditioning and a range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Anthony has experience with DVA clients as well as oncology patients and tailoring relevant exercise programs to their individual needs.

Madeleine Thomas

Maddi is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist based at our Palmerston location.

 

Maddi studied a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Science in 2018, followed by her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2021. Maddi is a qualified Nutritionist and has a passion in combining exercise, good nutrition and a healthy mind. Maddi has a strong interest in metabolic diseases, strength and conditioning and weight loss. Maddi has experience working with athletes through NT Thunder and NT Cricket as both a Nutritionist and Strength and Conditioning Coach, tailoring programs to meet individual needs.

 

“Everyone is capable of exercise if they have the right tools. I will provide clients with the individualised tools they need to succeed to achieve their health goals. This involves understanding an individual and working to their needs. As a qualified Nutritionist, I will also provide clients with nutrition education on request, to assist clients in balancing their life choices around food and exercise. I aim to provide all clients with a toolbox they can take away with them and continue to be successful after seeking my services.”

Katie Talbot

Katie is an Accredited Exercise Scientist based at our Alawa and Yarrawonga locations.

 

Katie is a born and bred Territorian, growing up in Katherine. Katie has a bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, graduating in 2016 and is currently studying her masters in Exercise Physiology. She has experience working with a number of different medical conditions and disabilities and has experience working as an Allied Health Assistant in both Katherine and Darwin. Katie is based across both our Yarrawonga and Alawa facilities. Katie has a strong interest in Mental Health and various musculoskeletal conditions.

Lauren Carr

Lauren is an Accredited Exercise Scientist based at our Alawa location.

 

Lauren studied a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at ACU in Brisbane, graduating in 2020. She has spent the last 15 years working in the fitness industry and dancing professionally within Australia and internationally. She holds a Diploma in Dance Performance, is a qualified Level 2 CrossFit trainer and has experience in strength and conditioning, olympic lifting and Pilates.

Lauren is passionate about movement in all forms. She loves introducing people to exercise and helping them make it an enjoyable part of their lives. 

 

“I want to help others fall in love with movement and exercise. I know the positive influence it can have on self confidence, body image and how much it can affect the ease of daily activities. I’m passionate about working with people of all different abilities to help better their quality of life.”

Kristine O'Meara

Kristine recently joined our team as our Administration Assistant.

You will see Kristine's friendly face at our Yarrawonga clinic or answering your phone calls and emails!

Kristine was born and raised in the Territory. She enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with her hobbies including dancing, cooking and swimming. She previously worked in the aviation industry and enjoys spending time with her friend's and family.
